Dearborn’s Halal food scene is continuing to grow.

Town Kitchen is a new Halal kitchen coming to 6029 Greenfield Road in the city. It follows the opening of the flagship location in Melvindale three years ago. The owner of Town Kitchen who goes by Sal told What Now Detroit he is hoping to open the second location by the end of the fall.

Sal said the menu will be the same as the Melvindale location, featuring entrees like mandi chicken, lamb madfoon, chicken quesadillas, burgers and shawarma. The restaurant also serves sambosa as an appetizer, which is a fried pastry filled with vegetables like potatoes, onions or peas. Free slushies are offered every Thursday with an order over $10.

“Best in class fresh Halal food,” says the description on their website. The business also goes by the name Town Bakery.

The restaurant is opening at the developing shopping plaza on the west side of Greenfield Road near the Ford Road on-ramp. What Now Detroit just recently covered another concept called Bayroot Bakery coming to the plaza, and will be very close to Town Kitchen.

Sal and the team will be updating the Dearborn community on their Facebook page as it gets closer to the opening.
