Cameron Mitchell Restaurants is continuing to expand its Hudson 29 Kitchen + Drink brand, with plans to open a new location in Bexley, according to Columbus Business First.
The location is set to be at 2200 E Main St, Bexley, OH 43209. The restaurant group recently announced that Hudson 29 will join The Fitzgerald, an $85 million mixed-use development by Continental Real Estate Cos. The restaurant is expected to open in spring 2027.
The upcoming location will be the third Hudson 29 restaurant, adding to existing locations in Upper Arlington and New Albany.
Speaking with What Now Columbus, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants President and COO David Miller said the decision to bring Hudson 29 to Bexley was influenced by the company’s existing relationship with the development team and its familiarity with the community.
“This project is especially meaningful to us because it comes through a long-standing relationship with developer Frank Kass, who we’re proud to call both a partner and a friend,” Miller told the publication.
“Bexley is a community we already know and value, with a successful Rusty Bucket nearby. Expanding Hudson 29 into The Fitzgerald felt like a natural next step to further enhance the quality dining options in the community,” Miller added.
According to the company, the expansion reflects its enthusiasm about joining the growing Bexley community and becoming part of the momentum surrounding The Fitzgerald development. The restaurant group also noted that the new location will incorporate updated design elements as the Hudson 29 brand continues to evolve.
“Guests can expect the same Hudson 29 menu they know and love, paired with a fresh, thoughtfully designed space that reflects the character of the Bexley neighborhood,” Miller stated. “Each location has its own personality, and Bexley will offer a new take on the Hudson 29 experience while staying true to what makes the concept special.”
Plans call for a 5,500-square-foot restaurant with seating for 178 guests, including 42 seats on a covered and heated patio.
Hudson 29 Kitchen + Drink is known for its contemporary neighborhood dining experience, offering lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch in a polished yet approachable setting. The concept features a chef-driven menu and has become one of the restaurant group’s most popular brands.
The company shared that Hudson 29 was created as a neighborhood gathering place and that the concept’s success has supported its continued expansion throughout Central Ohio.
“Cameron Mitchell Restaurants has always been deeply rooted in Central Ohio, and we take great pride in growing alongside the communities we serve,” Miller expressed to WhatNow Columbus.
Expanding Hudson 29 is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the local dining scene while continuing to invest in our hometown.”
Once complete, the restaurant will become part of The Fitzgerald, a mixed-use development that will include approximately 230 apartment units, more than 11,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and roughly 12,500 square feet of office and medical space.
Miller said the restaurant is expected to play an important role in both the development and the surrounding neighborhood.
“Hudson 29 will bring a unique energy to The Fitzgerald and the East Main Street corridor, offering an elevated yet approachable dining experience that complements the area’s strong lineup of restaurants,” he said.
“Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where guests can gather, enjoy our genuine hospitality, and order from a familiar menu that fills a niche not currently represented in the neighborhood.”
Cameron Mitchell Restaurants also indicated that it looks forward to welcoming residents and visitors to the new location when it opens.
Founded by Cameron Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants operates 50 restaurants across 20 concepts, including 23 locations throughout Central Ohio.
