A downtown Columbus Domino’s Pizza is set to relocate its existing carryout operation to a new space on East Main Street.

The pizza shop will move from its current location at 342 E. Gay St. to 386 E Main St, Columbus, OH 43215., bringing the popular chain to a new downtown storefront.

An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, but the move is expected to be completed by the end of June, according to the Columbus Business First.

The location is owned by franchise operator Brian Edler, who runs multiple Domino’s locations across the state and is a recipient of the Domino’s Chairman’s Circle award, the highest honor given to franchisees.

Edler expressed his excitement to the publication mentioned above about serving the community more conveniently, adding that the decision was driven by the high local demand for pizza and the desire to meet customer needs better.

The new location will include a pickup window designed for carryout orders, as well as improved accessibility for customers on the go.

Edler added that the location will feature a carryout pickup window for added convenience, along with a parking lot for up to 20 vehicles to help ease downtown parking concerns.

In addition to the relocation, the store is currently hiring for two assistant managers, two customer service representatives, and four delivery drivers.

The current Gay Street location originally opened in 2014 and sits next to Matt and Tony’s Kitchen x Tavern.

The new Domino’s will take over a space previously occupied by Way Down Yonder Beignets & Coffee, a locally owned bakery and café that closed last summer after three years in business. The space was the first tenant in a building that also houses a Home2 Suites hotel.

Since closing, Way Down Yonder has shifted toward launching a foundation focused on training and workforce opportunities. However, the brand recently hinted on social media at a possible return through a new food truck concept, suggesting a potential comeback to the local food scene.

What Now Columbus reached out for additional details regarding the relocation, but did not receive a response prior to publication. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
