New Orleans-inspired flavors are arriving in the City of Brotherly Love this summer.

Philly Po Boy Co., created by brothers Greg and Chris Lynch, will open at 102 W. Berks St. under the El.

Both brothers bring extensive restaurant experience. Chris spent the past 25 years in New Orleans, cooking at Emeril’s, Commander’s Palace and Atchafalaya, while Greg built his career in Philadelphia, most recently serving as a chef with the Starr Restaurant Group.

The new eatery will serve po’boys, as its name suggests, along with staples such as gumbo and beignets.

A po’boy is a traditional Louisiana sandwich served on French bread and typically filled with fried seafood, such as shrimp, oysters or catfish, or meats like roast beef. It is often served “dressed,” meaning topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayonnaise.

Philly Po Boy Co. will also partner with New Orleans-based Applied Arts Coffee for its coffee program.

An official opening date has not yet been announced, however, the team replied to an Instagram comment stating, “We’re in the final stages and getting close. Stay tuned!”

Visit the Philly Po Boy Co. website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook.
