An authentic Italian pizzeria is preparing to open in Runnemede.

Peppino’s Pizza & Trattoria, owned by husband-and-wife team Hank and Gia Mazzola, will debut at 681 E. Evesham Rd., according to an Instagram video featuring the iconic Rocky theme song, “Gonna Fly Now.”

“DRUMROLL!! PEPPINO’S RUNNEMEDE COMING SOON!! We are SO excited for you to meet our Peppino’s Family!” the post read.

The Runnemede spot will mark the shop’s second location, joining its flagship in Marlton.

The pizza joint is known for its classic and signature pies.

Standout offerings include the “Boardwalk,” topped with grass-fed ribeye, bacon, fries, cheddar and mozzarella; the “Peppino’s Special,” made with sausage, fresh mozzarella, marinara and long hots, then drizzled with Mike’s Hot Honey; and the “Upside Down,” layered with fresh mozzarella and topped with marinara, olive oil, basil and Parmesan.

Beyond pizza, Peppino’s serves its famous wings, burgers, hoagies, sandwiches, pasta dishes and classic Italian entrees.

The menu also features classic Italian desserts, including tiramisu and cannoli, as well as dessert pizzas.

The team finalized the deal for the new space on July 15, so they have not yet announced an opening date. Visit the Peppino’s Pizza & Trattoria website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
