Coco Crepes just keeps getting sweeter. The popular regional chain is now planning another location for the Greater Houston region. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Coco Crepes is expected to open in Elyson Town Center at 7040 Elyson Exchange Way, Suite E-400, this summer.
“After many years in the restaurant industry and owning Mia Bella Trattoria in Vintage Park, I was looking for an opportunity to expand into a concept that offered something different while still aligning with my passion for hospitality and guest experience,” Coco Crepes franchisee Gianna Gozzo said in an email with What Now Houston.
“As I watched Elyson continue to expand, it became clear that the community was the perfect fit for a neighborhood café concept like Coco. The combination of a strong brand, a growing market, and an opportunity to create a welcoming gathering place made the decision an easy one.”
The permit further states that construction of the new Coco Crepes at the Elsyon Town Center is currently underway and slated for completion by this July. Gozzo confirmed that the new sweet treats shop will open this August.
“We are planning a grand opening celebration and look forward to welcoming the community to experience the café for the first time. Details will be announced as we get closer to opening,” Gozzo said.
Coco Crepes will open in good company. Elyson Town Center also houses The Milk Shake Factory, Playa Bowls, and more.
“Elyson was an easy choice,” Gozzo said.
“It is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Houston area and continues to attract families who value quality amenities and local businesses. We wanted to be part of a community that is still growing and evolving, and Elyson Town Center provides the perfect opportunity to become a destination where neighbors can gather and connect.”
Coco Crepes, Waffles & Coffee was founded by chef Youssef Nafaa in 2005. Inspired by European cafés and cooking breakfast for his sons, Nafaa named his original crepe after his son’s favorite teddy bear, “Coco”. The brand has grown into a popular regional chain. There are now at least ten Coco Crepes & Coffee locations in the Greater Houston region.
“What attracted me to Coco Crepes & Coffee was the strength of the brand, the versatility of its menu, and its ability to serve guests throughout the day, from morning coffee and breakfast to lunch, desserts, and casual gatherings,” Gozzo said.
“I felt the concept would be a great addition to the area and provide something unique for the growing Elyson community.”
What Now also briefly spoke with Nafaa, who confirmed the opening, but was unable to share further details by the time of this publication.
Coco Crepes is described as a modern European-inspired café with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
“Whether you’re stopping in for your morning coffee, meeting friends for brunch, enjoying a family outing, or grabbing a quick lunch, Coco offers a comfortable environment and a menu that appeals to guests of all ages,” Gozzo said.
“Guests can enjoy a wide variety of sweet and savory crepes, Belgian waffles, specialty coffee drinks, espresso beverages, smoothies, fresh salads, sandwiches, and house-made gelato. Some of the most popular items throughout the brand include made-to-order crepes, unique coffee creations, and indulgent dessert offerings.”
Try it all out and more when the new Coco Crepes opens in Elyson Town Center at 7040 Elyson Exchange Way, Suite E-400, this summer.
“We hope to bring more than just a restaurant. We want Coco to become a gathering place where families, friends, students, and professionals can connect and create memories,” Gozzo said.
“Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment, great food, exceptional service, and a sense of community that residents can truly call their own.”
