Last month, What Now Boston reported that fast-casual concept Saloniki Greek would relocate its original Fenway location into the former Regina Pizzeria space. Now, the local favorite is preparing to open two additional restaurants.
According to a press release, Saloniki will debut new locations in former Amelia’s Taqueria spaces. The first will open at 180 Brighton Avenue on Allston‘s Harvard Avenue. The approximately 1,500-square-foot restaurant will feature seating for 12 guests. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., it is designed to serve the neighborhood’s mix of students, young professionals, and longtime residents.
“Allston is an exciting food neighborhood in Boston, and we’ve wanted to be part of it for a long time,” said Eric Papachristos, CEO of A Street Hospitality, Saloniki’s parent company. “Harvard Avenue is the heart of the neighborhood — exactly where we want to be. We’re proud to bring the same Greek food and hospitality that our guests have come to love at our other locations to the people who live, study, and work in Allston every day.”
The second location is planned for 1936 Beacon Street in Cleveland Circle. It is expected to span roughly 1,500 square feet and offer seating for approximately 24 guests.
Founded by Boston hospitality veterans Eric Papachristos (CEO), Jon Mendez (COO), and two-time James Beard Award winner Chef Jody Adams, Saloniki Greek was created to bring the flavors and hospitality of Greece to a modern fast-casual setting.
The menu features signature pita sandwiches, souvlaki plates, Village Salad, spanakopita, Fries & Feta, and a neighborhood-beloved frozen yogurt recipe.
A Street Hospitality is behind a number of Boston-based concepts, including La Padrona, Trade, Porto, and The Venetian. In addition to its upcoming Allston and Cleveland Circle restaurants and soon-to-relocate Fenway flagship, Saloniki currently operates locations in Back Bay, Downtown Crossing, Harvard Square, and MIT/Kendall Square.
