A new concept from Atlas Restaurant Group is on deck to make sure this summer is a particularly memorable one for Annapolis foodies. The busy hospitality group is getting ready to introduce an Italian concept called Marmo to the area, with doors set to open next month.

The restaurant, which is “set to become the crown jewel of Annapolis’ culinary scene”, is putting the finishing touches on its 80 Compromise Street home. Marmo will be nestled in the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel and will be able to accommodate up to 350 guests-150 of which will be able to enjoy the view from outdoor seating.

The restaurant is poised to become one of Maryland’s premiere Italian dining destinations; the website explains what future guests can look forward to, saying: “As an Italian chophouse, Marmo will offer an enticing menu featuring succulent steaks, expertly crafted chops, housemade pastas, and a bounty of fresh seafood dishes. Enthusiasts of Italian wine will delight in the extensive wine list, curated to showcase the finest selections from Italy’s renowned vineyards.”

Marmo is working on assembling a crack team to keep happy customers fed. The restaurant is holding a hiring event on Tuesday, June 16 to recruit staff.

While Marmo does not yet have an official opening date, local foodies won’t have to wait much longer to sample its fare; the restaurant will be ready to welcome guests at some point in July.
