Wawa could be adding another location in Fayetteville as the convenience store chain continues its expansion across North Carolina. According to a report from FayToday News, a new store has been proposed for 8444 Raeford Road, near the intersection of Raeford Road and Hoke Loop Road in western Fayetteville.
The publication reports that the proposal was recently reviewed by the City of Fayetteville Technical Review Committee and remains in the planning stages. Construction has not yet begun.
If approved, the store would join Wawa’s existing Fayetteville location at 3613 Raeford Road and its Hope Mills travel center at 630 Chicken Foot Road. FayToday News reports the proposed store would become the company’s third location in Cumberland County.
According to Wawa’s website, the Pennsylvania-based convenience retailer operates more than 1,100 stores and is known for its built-to-order hoagies, breakfast sandwiches, handcrafted beverages, fresh coffee and other made-to-order food offerings. The company has identified North Carolina as a key growth market, with plans to build at least 80 stores across the state over the next decade as part of its long-term expansion strategy.
WhatNow Charalotte will provide updates on the proposed Fayetteville location as more information becomes available.
