Aldi is continuing its rapid South Florida expansion with plans to open a second Miramar location at 17101 Miramar Parkway, replacing the former Winn-Dixie supermarket. The new store is expected to open some time in 2026, according to Instagram site, Fort Lauderdale Certified.
The Miramar location is one of several former Winn-Dixie stores being converted to Aldi following the company’s acquisition of Southeastern Grocers’ Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket in 2024. The former Winn-Dixie at the site closed in January 2026.
Founded by Germany’s Albrecht family, Aldi U.S. is owned by Aldi Süd, one of two independently operated companies that grew from the original Aldi business established by brothers Karl and Theo Albrecht. The discount grocer now operates about 2,500 stores across the United States and continues to expand, with plans to open hundreds of additional locations nationwide over the next several years.
Known for its streamlined stores, items without brand names, and value pricing, Aldi has become one of the fastest-growing grocery chains in the country for its low prices and no-nonsense approach to food shopping.
