A potential new arrival is hoping to help Memphis drivers clean up their acts-or at least their cars. Club Car Wash has filed a special use permit to turn a former restaurant into its next location.
The popular car wash chain is requesting approval to open at 4628 Summer Avenue on the lot currently occupied by a defunct Hardee’s.
Club Car Wash’s special use permit, filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development provides a description of the project: “The parcel zoning is CMU-1 which requires a special use approval for a vehicle car wash. The site currently has a restaurant that is permanently closed. The owner is looking to revitalize the site into a car wash for the surrounding community and existing daily traffic to utilize.”
Club Car Wash is a relatively well-established chain, with more than 250 locations spread across 13 states. Should all approvals go according to plan, the concept will be a welcome addition to Memphis.
