A Memphis storefront may soon find itself in the tire business again. Papers have been filed to open a new business in the storefront that previously housed Roger and Sons New & Used Tires-and while the name and owner will be different, the general function will remain the same.

A company listed as S S Tires LLC has filed for a certificate of occupancy with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development. If approved, the business will be moving into 1758 Lamar Avenue. The paperwork states that the storefront will span 1,200 square feet.

There is not a great deal of further information available about the store. It appears that S S Tires will be relatively straight forward in its purpose and function-to sell new and used tires. It is, additionally, unclear when precisely the business will be open and ready to serve customers; the certificate of occupancy was filed on June 22 and is still awaiting approval. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership and will update readers as details emerge.
