A new Japanese omakase restaurant is set to open on Coral Way this week, bringing an intimate Edomae-style dining experience to the neighborhood. The space blends traditional Japanese design with contemporary touches inspired by Miami.
Takay to Open on Coral Way This Friday

Takay, a new 10-seat omakase restaurant that is opening its doors in Miami’s Coral Way. Beginning Friday, July 10, and will be open Wednesday through Sunday with two seatings each night. Glen Kotlyarski and Yoni Matz founded the restaurant.
Takay’s menu centers on traditional Edomae-style sushi, emphasizing seasonal ingredients and precise craftsmanship.

Chef Glen Kotlyarski, who has more than 20 years of culinary experience, will lead Takay’s kitchen. The name, Takay, comes from the Japanese word “takai,” which means “high” or “elevated.” The name reflects the team’s commitment to quality, from carefully sourced ingredients to meticulous preparation.
Inside the New Restaurant

Takay spans over an 800-square-foot space that is designed by Japan-based firm KTX. It features traditional Japanese design elements, along with influences from Miami. Guests enter through a Zen garden, setting the tone for the intimate dining experience.
The restaurant features a hinoki wood installation inspired by Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Guests enjoy the omakase meal beneath the installation, which serves as the dining room’s centerpiece.
Takay will offer two nightly seatings at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. It will launch with a 17-course omakase menu that is priced at $250 per person. It has also planned additional omakase experiences for the future.
The opening adds another destination for Japanese fine dining in Coral Way, with an intimate omakase concept rooted in traditional hospitality and premium ingredients.
