McDonald’s, the global fast food restaurant chain, is getting ready to open a new location in Montréal at 3553 rue de Contrecœur in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
The new restaurant is one of two recently announced tenants joining Faubourg Contrecœur, a commercial development by Harden and Crombie near rue Sherbrooke Est and rue de Contrecœur, according to Retail Insider. McDonald’s will occupy approximately 3,046 square feet, while Dollarama will take approximately 9,726 square feet. Construction is underway for both businesses, with openings expected between late summer and early fall. Customers can expect McDonald’s standard menu of burgers, sandwiches, fries, breakfast items, and beverages.
The addition of McDonald’s and Dollarama brings the commercial space at Faubourg Contrecœur to 100% leased, according to the announcement. The development’s anchor tenant is IGA, which will occupy approximately 40,020 square feet and is scheduled to open on August 13. The full retail center is currently under construction, with the site plan indicating an expected opening in summer 2026.
Faubourg Contrecœur is located in Montréal’s Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough and is being developed as a new commercial destination for the surrounding community. The project sits near the intersection of rue Sherbrooke Est and rue de Contrecœur, adding grocery, retail, and restaurant options to the area. McDonald’s will join a mix of national and local tenants planned for the site.
The new McDonald’s location will provide another restaurant option for residents in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area as Faubourg Contrecœur continues construction. The project is expected to bring a combination of grocery, retail, and dining services to the neighborhood once completed.
