I Scream Gelato is heading to Round Rock. According to public filings, the gelato brand will occupy space at 2800 E Palm Valley, Suite 200, with construction work to wrap by October 2026.
What Now Austin reached out to the local franchisee, Venkata Kakaraparthi, to inquire about the opening timeline, but had not received a response by press time.
Founded in Breckenridge, Colorado, in 2018, I Scream Gelato was born after its founders, Nadav Abergel and Yuval Fuchs, returned from a trip to Milan, inspired by the gelato there, and began experimenting with recipes at home before turning the idea into a full-fledged dessert shop. The brand has since built its identity around traditional Italian gelato-making methods, importing many ingredients directly from Italy.
The menu includes flavors like chocolate, pistachio, dulce de leche, and crème brûlée, alongside more elaborate offerings such as bubble waffle cones, gelato brioche sandwiches, milkshakes, and affogato. Vegan and dairy-free options are also available across its locations.
According to its webpage, the brand currently operates shops in Breckenridge, Denver, and Frisco, Colorado; Columbus, Ohio; Miami Beach, Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood; and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Its only Texas location so far is in Plano, at The Boardwalk at Granite Park. Round Rock would mark the brand’s second Texas shop and its first in the Austin area, placing it in the Palm Valley corridor alongside a mix of established restaurants and retailers.
