The Bar Method is planning a new studio at 3516 Preston Road, Suite 750, inside the Preston Parker Crossing shopping center in Plano, with construction to wrap by mid-October, according to public filings.
What Now Dallas reached out to studio owner Allison Collinsworth for comment on the new location but did not receive a response by press time.
Founded in 2001, The Bar Method built its brand around a barre-based workout rooted in kinesiology and anatomy and developed with input from physical therapists. Classes rely on body weight, the ballet barre and light props, with a sequence of exercises designed to build strength, improve flexibility and sculpt long, lean muscle over time.
The brand markets its classes as accessible to all ages, body types and fitness levels, with instructors trained to modify movements for injuries or physical limitations.
The new studio would join The Bar Method’s existing Plano location at 4017 Preston Road, inside Lakeside Market, which has operated in the area since 2011. The addition places two Bar Method studios within a few miles of each other along the same Preston Road corridor, an area already dense with boutique fitness studios, salons and specialty retail.
Preston Parker Crossing sits close to several major employers, including Bank of America, HP Enterprise, Capital One, JCPenney, Ericsson, Frito-Lay and Dell, putting the new studio within reach of a large daytime working population in addition to nearby residential neighborhoods.
