H-E-B gears up to launch its debut store in Murphy on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Customers can find a BBQ spot, drive-thru pharmacy, and more offerings at the location. Grand opening celebrations are going to feature free coffee, cowboy cheerleaders, and other attractions.
H-E-B Opening First Murphy Store
H-E-B announced that its new Murphy store will open at 740 E. McCreary Road near FM 544. The opening expands H-E-B’s presence in North Texas.
Starting July 22, the local community can find a range of offerings at the location, such as fresh produce, meat, seafood, bakery items, and H-E-B private-label products. The store will also include sections dedicated to South Asian grocery products, fresh-cut produce, and Meal Simple prepared meals.
The outlet also features True Texas BBQ, where meat items are slow-smoked in-house. Along with it, customers can get curbside pickup, drive-thru pharmacy, a fuel station, and a car wash facility.
According to MySanAntonio.com, city officials announced plans for the Murphy outlet back in April 2024 after years of anticipation.
Grand Opening Events
H-E-B will begin welcoming customers at 6 a.m. on July 22 with a series of grand opening festivities. Those arriving before the doors open can get complimentary coffee, breakfast, and giveaways.
The celebration will also include appearances by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the team’s mascot, Rowdy. The timing for both is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Customers can sample the grocery chain’s different products, access exclusive opening promotions, and enter prize giveaways during the first four weeks of the store’s operation.
Several other additional events, including seafood boils, product demonstrations, and special offers, are planned for the next few weeks.
The brand was established in 1905 and has grown into one of Texas’s largest grocery retailers.
H-E-B has also earned national recognition for its customer experience and value. According to Dunnhumby’s annual U.S. Grocery Retailer Preference Index, the Texas-based grocer ranked No. 1 in the U.S. grocery industry for the fourth consecutive year, highlighting factors such as value, customer perception, and overall shopping experience.
The Murphy store expands H-E-B’s North Texas presence and brings the retailer’s grocery offerings and services to the community.
