One of Miami’s most popular waterfront destinations is making a comeback.
The Wharf Miami is set to return as part of the new Riverside Wharf mixed-use development along the Miami River, bringing back the open-air entertainment concept that became a local favorite before closing in 2023 to make way for redevelopment.
Located at 114 SW North River Drive, Riverside Wharf will transform the former Wharf site into a $350 million hospitality destination featuring a reimagined Wharf, a Dream Hotel, restaurants, nightlife venues, event space and a public riverwalk. The project is being developed through a partnership between Breakwater Hospitality Group, MV Real Estate Holdings, Driftwood Capital and Merrimac Ventures. Breakwater’s Emi Guerra just posted an Instagram reel from the construction site, pointing out the giant cranes have been moved into place to assist the buildout. The Wharf is expected to reopen in 2028.
The new Wharf will feature waterfront dining and entertainment, replacing the original pop-up venue with a permanent structure designed to preserve the casual, social atmosphere that helped make the concept famous. Guests can expect signature food and beverage concepts, marina access, and expanded public spaces overlooking the Miami River.
Originally opened in 2017, The Wharf quickly became one of Miami’s premier outdoor gathering spots, known for its waterfront setting, rotating food vendors, themed events and live entertainment.
The Wharf’s return will anchor the larger Riverside Wharf development, which will also include a 165-room Dream Hotel, a nightclub and rooftop day club, an event venue and a deep-water marina capable of accommodating megayachts.
