Memphis-area men, get ready to look your freshest. New Editionz Barbershop is getting ready to provide all of the region’s grooming needs in a comfortable and inviting environment-and it will be opening in the not too distant future.

The shop will be greeting customers at 9160 US-64. A certificate of occupancy filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development shows that New Editionz Barbershop will have a dedicated 1,300 square feet of space.

New Editionz is on track to open in early September. Owner Bakary Kassama has been stirring excitement for the new shop on his social media, offering sneak peeks at what the concept has in store. A Facebook post describes the atmosphere he plans to create, saying “the shop will include a pool table, nice and comfortable vintage gold barber chair and more GOD willingly.”

While future customers will be drawn to these amenities, it is, of course, the grooming services that will inspire return visits, and New Editionz will be offering a full range of options. Kassama enumerates the services patrons can anticipate: “Get ready for premium haircuts, clean fades, beard grooming, and a first-class barbershop experience.”

Kassama has a clear vision for his shop and what he hopes it will bring to the community. He states: “I’m so excited about this project and opportunity to be able to create a great environment and to help others and also continue to learn from others.”
