With restaurants in states like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q offers “Slow-Smoked Southern Goodness” at 63 open or soon-to-open locations.
Actually, make that 64. This week, What Now examined paperwork submitted to the Town of Lexington that shows a new Jim ‘N Nicks planned for 5101 Sunset Blvd.
“It all began in 1985 in a reclaimed old pizza restaurant on Clairmont Avenue in Birmingham, AL,” says the Jim ‘N Nick’s website. “The formula was simple. Celebrate the heritage of revered bar-b-q masters, cut no corners on the menu, and serve the whole community like family. That philosophy allowed us to create something special. An authentic bar-b-q restaurant with chefs and pitmasters. A nod to our past recipes, with eyes towards the future. Sit-down dining on one hand, and a drive-through on the other. No freezers, no microwaves, and no shortcuts. 12-hour slow-smoked pork and beef, but served real fast. A celebration of Alabama, but a reverence for the bar-b-q tradition across the South.”
The menu features plenty of starters, like the Pitmaster Nacho Platter (White queso and shredded cheddar topped with pico de gallo and chipotle crema. Choice of jalapeno cheddar sausage, pulled pork, or chicken) and Brisket Mac & Cheese Bombs. JNN Classics, which are served with two trimmings (your choice from a selection that includes Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Mac & Cheese, and lots more), include Carolina-Style Pork, Beef Brisket, Smoked Turkey Breast, and more.
Opening in the Sunset Boulevard location, Jim ‘N Nicks would join Lexington Pavilion, a retail center home to big-box retailers like Best Buy and Target, along with restaurants like Five Guys, Chicken Salad Chick, and Crumbl.
