A new cafe and indoor playground is preparing to open in Myrtle Beach. It’s called Little Lounge Play Cafe, and for owner Jatasha Greenway, it represents the fulfillment of a dream held since the COVID lockdowns.
“I had been wanting to do an indoor playground basically since COVID,” Greenway told What Now on Thursday. “But when COVID happened, and life came to a halt, that had to go on the back burner. It was not the time.”
But once that period ended, Greenway says she was finding herself with more free time than she was accustomed to. The kids got older and went off to school, and it didn’t take long for the Little Lounge Play Cafe idea to start taking shape again.
“We decided, okay, our kids are older now, and we can do this.”
Greenway says the idea for Little Lounge Play Cafe was inspired by the experience of raising her daughter, who was born premature and required additional therapy during childhood.
“From 9 months to 18 months, she had all these therapists all the time, and they were coming to our house, and I thought, ‘We need a place where we can host these therapists.’ My husband said, ‘That’s so true.’ I mean, can you imagine, all these therapists out there, going from house to house with bags of toys?”
For physical and other therapists, Little Lounge Play Cafe could be the perfect place to meet patients, a place where, Greenway says, “you’d only need your notepad.”
All in all, it will be a wholesome and safe place to bring the kids. It will also serve as a gathering place, where you can order coffee, tea, soft drinks, and prepackaged snacks as well. There will be a large parlor area, safe for children of crawling age, along with four themed playhouses, each with a sponsor (two slots are already taken!). There will also be a sponsor wall to recognize people whose contributions make Little Lounge Play Cafe possible.
Little Lounge Play Cafe will open at 3001 Waccamaw Blvd in Myrtle Beach.
