A luxury Italian all-day café is set to elevate New York City’s Upper East Side with its refined dining experience.
Fellini Coffee, owned by Franco Noriega, will debut at 135 E. 63rd St. The new café will join existing locations, including another on the Upper East Side, as well as cafés in SoHo, the West Village, Chelsea, the Upper West Side, the Meatpacking District and East Hampton.
“Location, it’s our primary focus. When we come to a neighborhood, it has to make sense for the brand,” Noriega told Whatnow New York City. “63rd St., specifically, is the pinnacle of luxury brands. There’s also a good amount of high-net-worth residential area on Park Ave., and you have the office world, so it’s three different worlds colliding.”
The upcoming location will offer more space, including an outdoor seating area.
“It’s about 850 square feet compared to the regular 500 square feet, but we will serve the same menu—same coffee, same food, same everything,” he said.
Fellini Coffee offers a coffee and espresso program featuring signature drinks such as the “Fior de Pollen,” a salted honey latte with double espresso, whipped creamy foam and a sprinkle of pollen; the “Matcha Piña Colada,” made with ceremonial matcha, coconut cream and pineapple juice; and the “Tiramisu Latte,” crafted with double espresso, mascarpone, cocoa powder and milk.
In keeping with its all-day café concept, the menu transitions at night to feature a cocktail program with classics such as spritzes and espresso martinis, alongside a curated selection of wines.
Rounding out the experience is a robust Italian menu. Brunch includes Benedicts, avocado toast and croissants with a bottomless mimosa option, while dinner offers pasta, pizza, steak, seafood and chicken entrées.
The upcoming Upper East Side location remains under construction, and Noriega is eager to continue the brand’s expansion
“We’re excited to keep growing and expanding our footprint in Manhattan. We have four locations opening next year. This is the last location opening this year,” he said.
Noriega isn’t slowing down. He is also planning to launch a sister café concept called Saint.
Inspired by the charm of a French café, Saint is slated to open at 22nd St. and Seventh Ave. in Chelsea during the first week of September.
“Fellini has the dolce vita lifestyle, the Italian dream. [With Saint], we’re going for a French brasserie look,” Noriega said.
Like Fellini Coffee, Saint will embrace the all-day café concept with coffee, cocktails and a food menu.
