Pamana, the Filipino restaurant run by chef Ethan Leung and Geri Leung, has filed for a liquor license at 5424 NE 30th Ave in Portland’s Concordia neighborhood, according to a public notice from the City of Portland. The filing lists Baon Kainan LLC as the applicant, tying the name back to the couple’s original food cart brand. It is not yet clear whether this marks a second location for Pamana or a full relocation away from its current home inside The Hoxton hotel.
The Leungs confirmed to What Now Portland that they plan to make a bigger announcement in September, timed to Pamana’s first anniversary, though they did not share further details on what that announcement will include.
Pamana began as Baon Kainan, a Filipino food cart on NE Alberta Street that built a following over four years for dishes like chicken adobo and kare kare fries. The Leungs later moved into a residency inside The Hoxton, opening under the Pamana name in September 2025 with a brunch focused menu, then adding dinner service the following spring.
The space was previously home to Expatriate, a cocktail lounge opened in 2013 by Kyle Linden Webster and Naomi Pomeroy, known for globally inspired drinks and small plates in a building once used as a brothel.
