Located at 113 S Palmetto Ave in Sanford, The Old Jailhouse Kitchen & Spirits is a bar with a storied past. Based in a building which began as a blacksmith and wagon shop in the late 19th Century, the bar will be offering a taste of that history at the Orlando International Airport this fall.

“We’re bringing a little bit of Sanford to the Orlando Airport,” owner Alex Sirica told What Now on Monday. “We’re trying to get open by late September or early October.”

In Sanford, the Old Jailhouse menu features mains like Chicken Pot Pie Gnocchi, the Belly Up Burger (1/2lb. grilled chuck/short rib/brisket blend burger, topped with mustard BBQ pork belly, smoked gouda cheese, Bibb lettuce, pickles and an onion jam, served with a choice of fries or house salad), and Shrimp N Grits.

Sirica says the menu at MCO will be abbreviated due to limited kitchen space, which means the food choices are still TBA. However, you can definitely expect to find plenty of the Old Jailhouse’s signature cocktails, which include Brake Fluid (saffron-infused New Amsterdam Gin, angostura bitters, Aperol, Giffard Peche de Vigne, lemon juice, lime zest) and the Tequila Mockingbird (Espolon Blanco, Stirring’s Triple Sec, lime juice, simple syrup, matcha powder, half matcha/sugar rim, orange zest).

The airport location will be operated in partnership with the Marshall Retail Group.
