Raani, a new Indian restaurant from the team behind Michelin-recommended Adrak Yorkville, is getting ready to open in Toronto at 360 Bay Street.

The new restaurant is set to open this summer, according to a press release from the team. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the concept comes from MJAJ Hospitality and founder Ambica Jain, who has been behind Adrak Yorkville since 2022. Customers can expect a new Indian dining concept centered around heritage, royal culinary traditions, and a refined dining experience.

Jain has built a strong reputation in Toronto’s restaurant scene through Adrak Yorkville, which has earned a Michelin recommendation and attracted celebrity customers. The restaurant has become known for offering a polished take on Indian cuisine, helping it stand apart from many traditional Indian restaurants in the city. Jain also co-founded MJAJ Hospitality, the company behind Adrak Yorkville, Adrak Richmond Hill, and Bikanervala Canada. Raani marks the group’s latest restaurant project and Jain’s most ambitious vision to date.

According to the restaurant’s social media, Raani is described as “a bold Indian dining room inspired by the opulence and grandeur of India’s 18th and 19th century princely states.” The press release adds that the restaurant’s culinary philosophy will focus on authenticity rather than reinterpretation, drawing from India’s royal kitchens and regional traditions, with recipes, techniques, and flavors rooted in the country’s culinary heritage. The name Raani translates to “Queen” and is intended to reflect a distinctly feminine perspective inspired by the women of India. Additional details about the menu have not yet been announced.

Raani will span two levels with 162 seats and is being designed as a day-to-night destination in the Financial District. The restaurant will feature a signature cocktail bar and lounge, a main dining room, and an exclusive 10-seat chef’s table at the center of the dining room. There will also be an underground private event space converted from an old bank, complete with its original vault, which will eventually be introduced as a speakeasy beneath Bay Street. More details about the culinary program, signature dishes, cocktails, and design are expected to be revealed ahead of the opening.

This will be an excellent landing space for Raani, with 360 Bay Street placing the restaurant in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District. The area is surrounded by office towers, hotels, residential buildings, and major transit connections, creating steady demand throughout the week. The location also introduces the concept to both downtown professionals and visitors looking for upscale dining options, with the restaurant specifically designed to accommodate everything from executive lunches and business gatherings to celebratory dinners and intimate evenings.

Raani continues MJAJ Hospitality’s expansion following the success of Adrak Yorkville and Adrak Richmond Hill. Although some details remain under wraps, the new restaurant appears to build on the group’s reputation for elevated Indian dining while introducing a distinct concept. Early access to reservations and opening updates will be available through Raani’s website, with more information about the opening and full dining experience expected in the coming weeks.
