Angry Chickz, the Nashville hot chicken chain, is planning a new restaurant at 4740 Natomas Blvd, Suite 100, in the space previously home to Sushi Elite. A building permit for the site lists Americo Builders as the contractor, and the company confirmed to What Now Sacramento that this location will be corporate-owned rather than run by an independent franchisee.

Angry Chickz built its menu around Nashville-style hot chicken, with options including chicken tenders, chicken sliders and chicken bowls, served at varying spice levels for customers who want the heat without losing the flavor.

The Southern California-born chain has been expanding steadily across the Sacramento region, with existing locations in East Sacramento, Elk Grove and Citrus Heights. A fourth restaurant recently opened at 6741 Stanford Ranch Road in Rocklin, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. With five locations either open or in the works across the region, Angry Chickz appears to be treating Sacramento as one of its stronger growth markets outside Southern California.

The new location sits along Natomas Blvd, a busy commercial stretch in the Natomas neighborhood on Sacramento’s north side, known for its mix of shopping centers, restaurants and steady residential growth over the past two decades. The area has drawn a wave of new dining options in recent years as Natomas continues to expand, making it a natural fit for a chain looking to grow its footprint across the region.
