When Main Street Food Market opens this fall in Villa Rica, husband-and-wife team Jose and Joi Espremera will open Agnes Caribbean Cuisine within the food hall. Jose told What Now Atlanta that they plan to open in mid-September in conjunction with the food hall.
With Agnes Caribbean, the team is aiming to bring something different to the Villa Rica community.
“We’ve seen that the city lacks this type of food out here,” Jose said. “We always had to drive to Atlanta to get what we like.”
This location will mark the third spot for the Agnes Caribbean brand, following locations in Dayton, Ohio, and New York. The brand serves Trinidadian cuisine, offering menu items such as jerk chicken bowls, curry chicken bowls and oxtail bowls. They also serve specialty beverages such as brown sugar lemonade.
Main Street Food Market, a food hall built with storage containers, has been taking shape over the past months. Agnes Caribbean will serve as a quick-service restaurant within the food hall, relying on rooftop and interior communal seating at the food hall for dine-in options.
Following the Villa Rica location, the Espremeras plan to look for additional sites across the Atlanta market. Jose envisions adding three or four more locations in the market.
