A small Rhode Island supermarket chain is crossing state lines for the first time.

Daily Stop Supermarket is expanding into Massachusetts, where it plans to take over the former Stop & Shop space at 932 North Montello Street in Brockton. According to the company’s website, the new location is slated to open before the end of summer 2026, marking Daily Stop’s first store outside of Rhode Island.

Founded by Mohammed Zameeruddin in the spring of 2023, Daily Stop has grown quickly over the past few years. The supermarket currently operates seven locations throughout the greater Providence metropolitan area, with additional stores in the works in Woonsocket and Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

The Brockton location will bring the chain’s signature format to a new market, with a selection designed to blend everyday essentials with an international twist. Daily Stop’s original 25,000-square-foot Providence location carries more than 5,000 products, including fresh produce, premium meat and seafood, dairy products, pantry staples, and specialty foods spanning national and international cuisines.

“Daily Stop is excited to expand into Brockton this summer,” reads the company website. “Built on a vision of quality, convenience, and community, this store will bring a fresh shopping experience with a wide range of grocery essentials, fresh produce, and a diverse selection of Caribbean, African, Asian, national, and international products. We are proud to serve Brockton and grow alongside it.”

An official opening date has not yet been announced. What Now Boston has reached out to Daily Stop Supermarket representatives for additional details about the upcoming Brockton store and will share updates as they become available.
