A local independent restaurant group is delivering a fresh slice of innovation with its newest pizzeria concept.
2 Doors Cafe & Pizzeria, owned by Gökhan Çakmak, is headed to 300 E. 41st St. in Tudor City. Çakmak also owns Madison Pizza NYC and Casa Farina NYC.
“When we discovered the available retail space in Tudor City, we immediately fell in love with the location and the neighborhood. There was previously a longtime pizza shop there, and with the new building and the growing number of residential units nearby, we felt it was the perfect place to create something fresh for the community,” Çakmak told Whatnow New York City.
The concept will pair a dedicated pizza counter and kitchen serving New York-style slices, whole pies, wings and subs with a cafe and bakery offering pastries, coffee and matcha. A shared seating area will serve both the pizzeria and the cafe.
“The space was larger than we needed for a traditional pizza operation—and, amusingly, it had two separate entrance doors. That inspired the name and the entire concept: two doors, two distinct experiences, and one neighborhood gathering place,” he said.
Çakmak looks forward to expanding into another New York neighborhood.
“Our goal is to create a clean, welcoming, and dependable neighborhood spot where local residents can stop by throughout the day,” he said.
2 Doors Cafe & Pizzeria plans to operate seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
