The Geyser Room, the on-site restaurant and bar at Hunters Hot Springs Resort, 18088 Highway 395 in Lakeview, OR, has new ownership under Melissa Ramis, according to an Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission filing. The restaurant sits on the resort property, roughly 2.5 miles north of downtown Lakeview, home to Old Perpetual, Oregon’s only continuously erupting geyser.
Hunters Hot Springs recently returned to its original historic name after operating under different branding for a period, with new ownership leaning into the property’s roadside nostalgia and its deep tie to the region’s geothermal activity. The resort’s centerpiece is a large outdoor mineral pool fed by natural artesian wells, kept at a comfortable soaking temperature using pure mineral water without added chemicals. The Geyser Room has long served as the resort’s dining option, described as friendly, family-run, and unpretentious, a natural stop for travelers coming off the nearby Bullard Canyon Trail or returning from the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge.
Lakeview itself sits at an elevation of 4,757 feet in Lake County, styled as the “Tallest Town in Oregon,” and serves as a gateway to the high desert outback of southeastern Oregon, including the Warner Wetlands and some of the darkest night skies in the country for stargazing.
