A major intersection in the city will have a fuel center at almost every corner.
A new Kroger gas station and convenience store was recently approved for 19991 W 12 Mile Road in the city. This is going to accompany the company grocery store already at the plaza just south of the site. Representatives from Kroger told What Now Detroit the opening date will be sometime in late summer or early fall 2027.
The building was previously a Bank of America, and it was just approved by the city to be constructed, from C&G Newspapers. The space will have 10 fueling stations and is to operate between 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
Kroger operates over 1,000 gas stations in 16 states, with 60 in Michigan alone. Another company gas station is near the intersection of Lincoln Street and Greenfield Road, and they are looking for more areas in this part of the state for development. The stations also feature a convenience store that sells drinks and snacks.
The fuel center will be at the southeast corner of 12 Mile and Evergreen Road, across from a Sunoco. A BP is also at the intersection, and this is in front of the plaza that houses Kroger. This is a short drive north of the off-ramp for Interstate 696.
Right now, the site is not listed online. More updates on the opening date will be released as construction progresses.
