With its 10-year lease at 10601 Tierrasanta Blvd. coming to an end, Homestyle Hawaiian is headed about 200 feet down the road. Its next home will be 10425 Tierrasanta Blvd., Suite 107, an address listed in records from the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality.
Co-owner Anselmo Tolentino told What Now San Diego that he hopes to open around mid-October. The exact date depends on health department permits.
The nearby space appealed to Tolentino because he can tailor it to the restaurant. The kitchen will be “much, much bigger,” he said, although customers will find a slightly smaller dining room.
The address once housed Chile Peppers. Tolentino said the new restaurant will have a Hawaiian surf theme, with several surfboards throughout the space.
The menu will change, too. Tolentino expects to serve more fish and add ceviche. The current menu keeps breakfast available throughout the day alongside the restaurant’s Hawaiian plates.
Tolentino said the team will concentrate on the Tierrasanta move for now, with no additional opening in the works. In the meantime, follow Homestyle Hawaiian on Instagram for updates.
