According to public filings, a new convenience store concept under the name Darden Hill Market plans to open at 12000 Darden Hill Road in Austin, in Hays County.
Co-owner Malek Al Sayyed told What Now Austin that the project is in its early phase. “If everything goes fine, it will be up and running sometime in January 2028,” Al Sayyed said.
The concept is planned to be a convenience store with gasoline, with a liquor store planned alongside it. Al Sayyed confirmed to What Now Austin that the store would also serve made-to-go food, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner tacos, along with snacks and standard convenience items. The gas brand has not been finalized yet.
According to Al Sayyed, the area’s rapid residential growth was the reason for choosing Darden Hill Road for the location. “It’s growing a lot, and there is no C-store in the area. They have to drive a lot to get to one,” he told What Now Austin, adding that the property is already zoned for the intended use.
Asked what he wanted the community to know, the co-owner pointed to the convenience the concept will offer. “It’s going to have everything,” he said. “It’s going to be a very nice convenience store. It’s going to be good for the community, and we will serve whatever the community needs.”
