A fast-growing drive-thru coffee chain is continuing its push into the Greater Boston suburbs.

7 Brew Coffee has submitted an application to operate a location at 2 Mount Royal Avenue in Marlborough, reports the Community Advocate. The proposal was presented during a September 14 City Council meeting, where the council voted to send the application to the Urban Affairs Committee. The committee is scheduled to discuss the project at its next meeting on September 29 at 7:30 p.m.

The applicant, Boston Brewins LLC, was represented at the public hearing by attorney Christopher Flood and an engineer from Stonefield Engineering. During the meeting, the Stonefield representative outlined several elements of the proposed 7 Brew location, including the chain’s emphasis on personal customer service.

Rather than relying solely on traditional drive-thru speakers, employees would be stationed outside with tablets to take customers’ orders in person. The proposed site would also include a walk-up ordering window and outdoor seating for customers who arrive on foot.

The Marlborough location is proposed to include a 510-square-foot building, a detached 250-square-foot cooler, and two drive-thru lanes. One lane would accommodate up to 10 vehicles, while the other would accommodate up to 12. Proposed hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

The project would add to Boston Brewins’ growing presence in the region. The local franchisee is also developing a 7 Brew location at 211 Main Street in Weymouth, which the company previously told What Now Boston is expected to open in late fall or early winter 2026, pending the final stages of construction and permitting.

A hiring event for the Weymouth location is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to noon at Tufts Library. Boston Brewins representatives have also mentioned that the company plans to continue expanding 7 Brew locations throughout the Greater Boston area.

Founded in 2017 in Rogers, Arkansas, 7 Brew has grown into a major drive-thru beverage chain, with around 800 locations across 38 states and dozens more in development.

The menu features more than 20,000 customizable drink combinations, including espresso beverages, energy drinks, smoothies, shakes, teas, lemonades, and sparkling “7 Fizz” drinks. The brand’s lineup of signature espresso drinks, known as the “7 Originals,” includes fan favorites like the Blondie and Brunette.

The Marlborough proposal is still working its way through the city’s review process, so an opening timeline has not yet been announced. What Now Boston has reached out to both Boston Brewins and 7 Brew’s corporate team for additional details and will share updates as they become available.
