Park Pass Coffee is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar location, bringing the local specialty coffee company’s national-park-inspired offerings to a permanent storefront. The brand has signed a lease for a space at 4491 Tennyson Street, according to posts from Blue West Capital.
A commercial construction permit for the project is currently listed as “In Progress” with the City of Denver. Sam Schippel, co-owner of Park Pass Coffee, confirmed to What Now that the company plans to begin construction soon, with an anticipated opening in mid-to-late November.
“We are super excited to be opening our first retail location in Denver! We’re even more excited that it’s located in the Berkley/Highlands area, an area we’ve grown to know over the past several years through various community events and the Highlands farmers market. We’ve been working at this goal since our inception, and we’re beyond excited to share the space with the community and coffee lovers from afar,” he shared.
The planned cafe is expected to have an occupancy of 25 and employ approximately four to six staff members. Hours have not yet been determined.
It will offer a full-service specialty coffee menu featuring high-end coffee and matcha offerings, along with curated pastry selections. Customers will also be able to purchase Park Pass Coffee’s full selection of coffee bags, named after national parks.
Park Pass Coffee was founded by Schippel and Grant Newsome four years ago, with a mission centered on specialty coffee and giving back to national parks. The business partners with organizations that directly support the parks, donating more than $8,250 to date.
