A new Italian dining destination is coming to Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Pepe & Vera, owned by chef Caterina Pepe, will debut at 1712 1st Ave.
“The beginning of something special. Italian food, great wine, and warm hospitality are coming to the Upper East Side,” according to the restaurant’s Instagram page.
The menu appears to still be in development, with the team recently turning to social media to ask followers which Italian dishes and desserts they “could never say no to,” hinting some suggestions could make the final menu.
Commenters suggested dishes including linguine with clams, osso buco with risotto Milanese, slow-cooked Bolognese, spinach farfalle with duck ragu, tiramisu and tartufo.
Chef Pepe is no stranger to the pastry world, having previously served as chef and owner of the Italian pastry shop Cerasella in Long Island City.
