Black Bear Diner is bringing another eatery to Henderson. According to the team behind the brand, the plan is to open the next Henderson Black Bear Diner at 907 E. Lake Mead Pkwy at the beginning of 2027.
The address sits within the Cadence Village Center area near Smith’s Marketplace.
What Now Houston spoke with the Black Bear Diner team, who shared responses from the VP of Development for Black Bear Diner, Nicole Durham-Mallory.
“Black Bear Diner continues to evaluate opportunities for thoughtful growth in both existing and new markets,” Durham-Mallory said.
“We are also excited to announce another Las Vegas-area Black Bear Diner opening in late Q1 2027 at 907 E. Lake Mead Pkwy. in Henderson, Nevada. This diner will be operated as a corporate location.”
Black Bear Diner was founded in 1995 in Mount Shasta, California, by business partner Bruce Dean and artist/educator Bob Manley, along with Bob’s wife, Laurie Manley. The founders wanted to offer massive portions of home-style comfort food at reasonable prices inside a cozy, cabin-themed environment.
“Way back when we were just a couple of hungry guys with a big dream, we knew folks were looking for a restaurant rooted in something authentic… something real. And while there wasn’t much cash in our pockets, we had enough heart to cobble together our very first diner,” the brand’s website reads.
“So we set to preparing home-cooked meals that reflected our small-town roots. We were used to a different kind of diner, where servers look you in the eye and smile when they take your order. Where the food tastes a lot like your grandma’s favorite recipes. And where you feel, every time you visit, like you’ve finally come home.”
Bob drew inspiration from his background owning a wildlife gallery, merging rustic bear motifs, carvings, and whimsical artwork with classic diner hospitality. After operating successfully on their own, the company began offering franchise opportunities in 2002.
There are now at least 171 Black Bear Diner locations across 14 states in the United States, with eight locations in Nevada. Black Bear Diner is opening a new location in North Las Vegas this fall.
“Thirty years later, we’re still serving up the same genuine experience. Because at Black Bear Diner, we believe that timeless values like quality and personal service are still very much alive,” the website reads.
“So stop on by, and bring your appetite. We’ll set an extra plate.”
