St. Augustine is about to get a little taste of Louisiana, with Margie’s Cajun Stop preparing to set up shop on West King Street.
A permit record lists Margie’s Cajun Stop at 233 W. King Street, Suite A, St. Augustine, with the project currently in process. The family business is bringing its Louisiana roots to St. Augustine, with a menu centered around Cajun-inspired favorites and drinks.
According to Margie’s Cajun Stop, the concept will serve hot boudin, a signature house-made sauce and frozen non-alcoholic drinks. The business has described the project as a family venture inspired by its Louisiana heritage.
“Margie’s is more than just food – it’s a little piece of our family and Louisiana roots being brought to St. Augustine,” the business shared on Instagram.
The menu preview gives a closer look at what customers can expect, including the hot boudin and the business’ signature Daily Sauce, along with frozen drinks.
Margie’s has also been sharing glimpses of the concept as it works toward opening, encouraging locals to follow along for behind-the-scenes updates and details about the launch.
The new business will join the growing collection of small businesses along West King Street. The corridor has developed into a neighborhood destination with restaurants, cafés, breweries, shops and other independent businesses.
For Margie’s Cajun Stop, the goal is to bring something personal to the mix, food rooted in family and Louisiana tradition while establishing a new presence in St. Augustine.
An official opening date has not yet been announced.
