A new eatery is in the works for the former Fushimi Grill & Modern Buffet space in Jacksonville, and according to local social media chatter, it will be from the same owners. The incoming business will be called Grand Restaurant and is taking over the space at 12777 Atlantic Blvd., Suite 10.
Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation records show a plan review application for Grand Restaurant was submitted September 16 and is currently listed as “In process. The records identify Yi Liu as the owner.
Fushimi announced on social media in June that its Atlantic Boulevard location would officially close July 1. In the announcement, the restaurant thanked customers for their support and said guests could continue visiting its River City Marketplace location.
Several commenters said they had heard from the owners that they are converting the property into a higher-end Asian restaurant. Beyond that, not many details about this new venture are known.
