A popular fitness studio known for its low-impact, high-intensity workouts is expanding its presence in Manhattan.
[solidcore] recently signed a lease for a 2,500-square-foot space at 1695 2nd Ave. on the Upper East Side, according to Traded NY.
The new location isn’t the only studio in the works. [solidcore] also plans to open at 401 9th Ave., Suite 107, in Manhattan West.
[solidcore] combines strength and endurance exercises with movements targeting the core, lower and upper body.
While [solidcore] is often mistaken for Pilates because it uses a Pilates-inspired reformer machine, the workout differs by challenging each muscle group through slow, controlled movements designed to make the muscles shake.
For first-time attendees, the studio offers the Starter50: Intro to [solidcore] class, which introduces newcomers to the studio’s movements and machine.
The studio launched in 2013 and has since grown to more than 100 locations across the United States.
[solidcore] has a strong presence across Manhattan, with locations in Chelsea, the East Village, FiDi, Gramercy, Grand Central, Greenwich Village, NoLIta, SoHo, the Upper East Side, the Upper West Side and W. 57th St.
The company has not yet announced official opening dates for either location. Its website lists the Manhattan West studio as “coming soon,” while the company has not yet added the second location following its recently signed lease.
