Happier Grocery to Open Second Manhattan Location on Upper East Side

A community-focused grocer built around health and wellness, with the tagline “It’s What’s Inside,” plans to open its second Manhattan location next year.

Happier Grocery, founded by brothers Wells and Dawson Stellberger, will debut at 210 E. 86th St. on the Upper East Side, according to Traded NY.

The 20,500-square-foot space joins the grocer’s flagship location on Canal Street in SoHo, which opened in 2023. It will follow the same mission, serving as a “portal to discovery, encouraging exploration, learning and a deeper connection with every aspect of daily life.”

Happier Grocery is focused on high-quality, sustainable and ethically sourced products, with an emphasis on organic and local offerings. Its selection includes responsibly sourced meat and dairy, seed oil-free prepared foods and health and beauty products screened for harmful ingredients.

Need a quick bite after shopping? The prepared foods menu features sandwiches and proteins such as a grass-fed cheeseburger, gluten-free crispy chicken Caesar wrap, marinated miso-glazed salmon and organic turkey meatballs, along with soups, broths, sushi, pizza and an assortment of sides.

Happier Grocery also includes a beverage bar serving classic coffee and espresso drinks, tea and colorful, eye-catching smoothies.

Beyond food and beverages, the store carries its own merchandise alongside a curated selection of new and vintage books and magazines, including limited editions.

The team plans to open the new location in the second half of 2027.
