A coffee and tea lounge is brewing up plans to reopen in West Palm Beach.

Hideout Kava & Tea is moving to 115 S. Olive St., according to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The relocation from 107 N. Olive St. follows a spring 2026 announcement the shop had temporarily closed for construction. During the closure, the team directed customers to its other locations in Northwood, Boynton Beach, Stuart and Loxahatchee.

With its moody, LED-lit bar atmosphere, Hideout stands out for its signature panda mascot and extensive menu of kava and exotic tea-based drinks.

What is Kava?

Kava is a shrub native to the Pacific Islands, where its roots have been used for centuries in social and ceremonial gatherings. Mixed with water, the drink contains compounds called kavalactones, which are associated with relaxation and stress relief.

Hideout serves a variety of kava cocktails, including a Mango Kava Mojito made with mango, lime and mint; a Kava Latte blended with milk and flavors such as vanilla, caramel or white mocha; and a Cinnamon Toast Kava featuring cinnamon and brown sugar.

Guests can also customize their own kava soda at the brewing station with flavors such as strawberry, mango, pineapple, cream, vanilla and cookies and cream.

What is Exotic Tea?

The tea tree plant is a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Its leaves, known as kratom, have traditionally been chewed, dried and brewed into tea or ground into powder for consumption. Kratom strains are commonly categorized by vein color: white strains are associated with energy and stimulation, green strains with focus and mood enhancement, and red strains with relaxation and pain relief.

Like its kava offerings, Hideout’s tea menu also features handcrafted cocktails, and espresso drinks along with shots.

For guests seeking alternatives to kava and tea, the lounge also offers traditional espresso drinks and virgin cocktails.

An official reopening date has not yet been announced, however, the shop’s Instagram bio reads: “Opening soon.”
