A popular discount retailer known for its trend-driven merchandise is preparing to bring a new location to the Upper East Side this fall.

Five Below will open at 1175 3rd Ave.

The new store will mark Five Below’s sixth Manhattan location, joining existing outposts in Midtown, Union Square, Times Square, the Upper West Side and Chelsea.

Five Below offers a variety of products, including candy and snacks, games, toys, beauty products, room decor, tech accessories and clothing. Most items are priced between $1 and $5, with additional merchandise available at higher price points.

Founded in 2002, Five Below grew out of a shared vision between friends David Schlessinger and Tom Vellios, who brainstormed new retail concepts over several cups of coffee. Their ideas eventually led to the opening of the first Five Below store in Wayne, Pa.

Just six years later, Five Below opened its 100th store in Pittsburgh. Today, the retailer operates more than 2,000 locations across the U.S.

The UES store is targeting a Friday, Nov. 20, opening, with grand opening festivities planned throughout the weekend. Guests can enjoy free giveaways, games and activities for kids.

Once open, Five Below will operate from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
