Brooklyn Bros. Pizzeria’s longtime operators, Jonny Elia and his wife, Caitlin Hoover, have purchased the business. Its Everett flagship opened in June 2006 and operates at 1919 Hewitt Avenue. The company also has a restaurant at 8326 Mukilteo Speedway in Mukilteo.

“We’re planning to make some kitchen and dining room improvements in the near future that we’re very excited about, and are working on a couple of new menu items, but we’re not changing the pizza at all!” Elia told What Now Seattle.

His connection to the business began with a favor for a friend. In 2008, Elia took a temporary dishwashing job after his friend Keegan broke his arm and could not work. He expected to stay for a couple of weeks, but a proposal to remain on the crew changed those plans.

Elia eventually moved into management, becoming general manager, director of operations, and a shareholder. He sometimes left to travel or try other jobs, but kept returning to the pizzerias.

“These restaurants have become a huge part of me and feel like home to me in a way that’s hard to truly explain,” he wrote in a Facebook announcement.

Hoover joined in 2017 while finishing graduate school. She and Elia were already friends, and her job also turned into a longer stay. They went on to lead the company’s operations and got married during their years working together.

Their work has included partnerships with organizations such as Workforce Snohomish, Schack Art Center, and the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County. In his announcement, Elia said the couple intends to continue supporting those relationships along with the connections they have built with customers.

The restaurants serve New York-style whole pies and slices, Sicilian pizza, calzones, wings, salads, and desserts. Drinks include beer, cider, wine, and soft drinks.
