Great Lakes Crossing continues to grow with new retail options in 2026.
Books-A-Million is working on opening a new store at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills. The company continues to build out new locations in markets around the country. The executive team is reportedly hoping to open the new store by the end of the year.
Right now, the company operates three stores in the state, in Beverly Hills, Kalamazoo and Traverse City. There are over 220 stores open around the U.S. and Canada. The company has recently expanded into other markets including Atlanta.
The chain is one of the leading bookstore chains, with reads including fiction, nonfiction, comic books and bibles. Audio books and coloring books are also sold, as well as box sets, calendars and board games. Those shopping are hard pressed to not find what they are seeking out.
From recent photos, the new store looks to be going in near the Dick’s Sporting Goods at the mall. This is by other retailers include J.Crew Factory and Shinola Outlet. The area is the northwest side of the mall.
