The Palazzo at the Venetian Resort will soon be home to Wakuda, the first US restaurant from award-winning chef Tetsuya Wakuda, according recent coverage in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The “high-end, purely Japanese” restaurant will position itself as a “bold, artful collision of time and culture, traditional eastern mythology and seductive design.”
Tetsuya Wakuda has restaurants all over the world. The chef earned two Michelin starts for his restaurant Waku Ghin in Singapore and was honored as a master of cuisine by the Japanese government in 2013.
The chef’s Sydney-based restaurant Tetsuya’s was named one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. A sample five-course menu released by Tetsuya’s included dishes like NZ Snapper Sashimi, Pickled Fennel, Radish and Cucumber; Sand Whiting with Oyster Herb Emulsion, Watermelon Radish and Daikon; and Full Blooded Wagyu with Sesame Leaf, Shiso and Salted Plum, White Kombu.
Wakuda represents a partnership between the chef and 50 Eggs Hospitality Group, the company behind other successful Venetian projects like Yardbird and CHICA. It will be located in the lobby of the Palazzo tower and will feature patio space with a view of the Las Vegas strip.
