Dialogue will close its 18-seat Santa Monica doors on November 7, the Michelin-Starred restaurant of three years on Sunday announced in a Facebook post. But “it’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon,” Chef Dave Beran wrote.

“As times change, so do the needs of a restaurant,” Beran said. “With this conversation, we have come to the end of the Dialogue chapter on the Promenade. We are saying farewell to our little restaurant hidden in a food hall but not to a lifetime of relationships it built.”

Dialogue’s 700-square-foot space inside the Gallery Food Hall since 2017 has offered 10 menus with over 300 dishes in its tenure and served over 10,000 guests. Chef Beran said he opened Dialogue with the understanding it was to be temporary, and that it will return in one way or another.

“The next evolution of Dialogue — whether in a permanent location or another temporary one — is one we are actively pursuing and eager to share with you,” Beran said. “Until then, you can see all of the familiar Dialogue faces (with a little more French flair!) as all will be joining the Pasjoli team just down the street.” Pasjoli is Beran’s upscale French brasserie nearby.
