Bed Bath & Beyond is closing its Northridge Store, at 8959 Tampa Ave., according to a notice posted on the home good retailer’s website. “This location is closing,” a banner on the Northridge page states. “Visit soon for sales and great clearance finds. Get the deals before they’re gone!”
Bed Bath & Beyond also sent an email to patrons of the Northridge location announcing the news and an employee at the store Tuesday confirmed the closure in a telephone conversation with What Now Los Angeles. Its last day will be February 13, 2021, they said.
Between now and its last day, Bed Bath & Beyond is hosting a liquidation sale. Everything storewide is currently 20 percent off with the discounts likely increasing as its final day draws near.
Bed Bath & Beyond in January — ahead of the pandemic — announced it would close 40 stores across its portfolio of locations including five in California. At the time of the closure announcement, the Northridge store was not on the list. It’s unclear if the Northridge closure is an add-on to the aforementioned list (which included stores that “no longer meet the standards our customers expect from us”) or if it is a victim of COVID-19 which continues to shutter brick-and-mortar businesses.
The New Jersey-based home goods retailer did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday. The company is also behind BuyBuy Baby, Harmon Face Values, and up until last week, World Market — Bed Bath & Beyond sold the chain to a private equity chain.
