A pizza franchise is growing in the Peach State, with the signature Take ‘n’ Bake pizzas of Papa Murphy’s headed to Peachtree City.

After seeing the success of their Newnan location that opened in November 2024, Shareen Minor said they are now setting their sights on Peachtree City, along with Tom Feissle and her son, Ron Minor.

Shareen Minor has experience as an executive for several large companies, as well as a restaurant owner; she started a bagel company with two bagel shops in 1994. Upon moving to Georgia, she realized the state was lacking her favorite pizza pick-up restaurant.

“We’ve always raised our kids on it. They do a great job at giving back to the communities,” she said of Papa Murphy’s.

She reached out to the company, proposing the idea of her bringing the brand to the Atlanta market. The right time came in 2022, when the company reached back out about opening a store here.

“We saw it as, how do we run this as a family business? How do we pass on generational entrepreneurship?” Minor said.

They plan to open a total of five stores, focusing on areas southwest of Atlanta.

They are currently in the site selection process in Peachtree City, aiming for a location near an anchor store, such as Publix, in order to make it convenient for families to pick up a simple and tasty dinner during their regular errands. They are hoping for a September 2025 opening for the Peachtree City store.

In addition to Newnan, Papa Murphy’s can currently be found in Savannah, Richmond Hill, and most recently, Fayetteville.

Papa Murphy’s was created in 1995 with the merging of Papa Aldo’s and Murphy’s Pizza. The brand now has 1,135 franchised and corporate-owned locations across the U.S., plus locations in Canada and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to pizza, the menu includes salads, sides and dessert.

Minor recommends the signature Cowboy pizza, which is topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, black olives and cheddar.
