A leather goods brand is expanding to the Peach State for the first time.
Fount is expected to open at Avalon in Alpharetta early this summer. The 1,900-square-foot store will be located near Mayors.
Fount was created in 2014 by Phillip and Jackie Wachter. The brand features bags, wallets and accessories crafted with premium, full-grain leather and other high-quality materials. According to the company website, the bags are designed in Cleveland, Ohio, and handcrafted by skilled artisans in Ohio, the Dominican Republic and Leon, Mexico.
The Avalon outpost will be the brand’s first location in Georgia. Fount currently has three stores in Ohio and one in Texas.
Jackie Wachter said in a 2024 interview with ICSC Small Business Center that Avalon has “the most incredible foot traffic I’ve ever seen at a shopping center,” expressing excitement about the brand’s premium location at the destination.
The brand is one of several retailers expected to land at Avalon this year. Upcoming tenants also include the coastal clothing company Faherty, jeweler Brilliant Earth, fragrance house Jo Malone London and women’s clothing brand Reformation.
Avalon celebrated its 10th anniversary last fall. Jamestown now manages the destination after the company’s acquisition of North American Properties’ Atlanta subsidiary last year.
“We’re excited to continue evolving our leasing strategy and couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the new year than by sharing this announcement with our guests,” Adam Schwegman, director and head of retail leasing at Jamestown, said in an announcement about the upcoming retailers. “All these brands are either first-to-state or currently only have intown locations, so their additions will further solidify Avalon as a go-to shopping destination.”
